Goldcar Rent a Car is a car rental company founded in 1985 by Uan and Pedro Alcaraz in San Juan, Alicante. After the Alcaraz brothers opened their first branch and started to serve with 4 Ford Fiesta and one Ford Escort, they opened their second branch in a different town of Alicante in 1987. The company was officially opened in 1988 and was established as Europa Rent a Car Ltd.. The company, which continued to grow by opening branches in Benidorm, Valencia and Alicante Airport until 1998, decided to expand its headquarters in 1998 and established new units. GOLDCAR Rental, which has shown rapid growth by opening new openings at Malaga Airport in 2000, Murcia Airport in 2001, Almeria and Jerez Airports in 2002, Reus and Sevilla in 2006, and Gerona and Granada in 2007, is named GOLDCAR Rental. In 2009, Goldcar started to create innovations in its corporate image in order to support its worldwide development. The company opened Tenerife Norte, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura branches in 2010, Barcelona Airport, Bilbao, Ibiza and Menorca branches in 2011, and started its international development by opening its Faro (Portugal) branch. Consolidating its progress in Europe with the branches it opened in Portugal and Italy, Goldcar opened 9 more branches in 2013 and took its rooted place among the car rental companies within the scope of the holiday sector in Spain. The company, which opened 8 new branches in 2014, entered Malta, Andorra and Morocco and showed a rise in Portugal in the same year. Following these global developments, 80% of Goldcar was acquired by Investindustrial in 2014. In 2015, Goldcar entered France, Croatia and the Netherlands, as well as opened more than ten branches in Italy. The company, which opened new branches by giving a franchise in Mexico-Kankun and Corfu in 2016, continued to open branches in Italy.

Goldcar, which has more than 118 branches today with its global growth, has a vehicle fleet of more than 60,000 and more than 1000 employees.
