What is usually required to rent a car
Before reading the full guide, quickly review the most common requirements for reservation and vehicle delivery.
Driver's license
A valid license with sufficient duration may be required depending on the vehicle group.
ID / Passport
A valid ID, passport, or required travel document may be requested at delivery.
Age and license duration
Minimum age and license duration may vary by vehicle group, supplier, and insurance conditions.
Payment method
Online payment, prepayment, bank transfer, or pay-on-delivery options may be available for eligible vehicles.
Deposit / Authorization
Some vehicles may require a credit card authorization or deposit; special packages may offer exceptions.
Additional driver
Additional drivers may use the vehicle if they are added to the agreement and meet the conditions.
Required Documents for Car Rental
At vehicle delivery, the main driver must have a valid driver's license and identity document. For guests arriving from abroad, passport, entry information, or additional supplier-requested documents may be required. Age and License Conditions
Age and license duration requirements may vary by vehicle group, supplier, and insurance conditions. Economy vehicles may have more flexible conditions, while premium, luxury, and large vehicles may require higher minimum age and license duration. Payment, Deposit and Authorization
Otorento may offer online payment, prepayment with remaining payment at delivery, bank transfer, or pay-on-delivery for eligible vehicles. Some vehicles may require a credit card and authorization. Some special packages may offer credit-card-free or deposit-free rental; these advantages apply only to vehicles where they are clearly stated in the conditions.
Additional Driver and Authorized Users
The rented vehicle may only be used by the main driver and additional drivers named in the rental agreement. Additional drivers must be declared before rental, added to the agreement, and meet the age, license, and document conditions required for the main driver.
Delivery, Return and Fuel Policy
The vehicle must be picked up from the delivery point specified in the reservation and returned to the point stated in the return conditions. Delivery, return, waiting time, early or late return, and fuel policy may vary by supplier. The fuel level should be checked at delivery and the vehicle is usually expected to be returned with the same level.
Mileage, HGS/OGS and Extra Fees
Included mileage information is shown on the listing and vehicle detail screens. If a vehicle has a mileage limit, the supplier's mileage excess fee may apply when the limit is exceeded. Highway, bridge, HGS/OGS and similar toll charges are reflected based on actual usage; an additional processing or service fee may apply depending on the supplier.
Insurance, Coverage and Accident Cases
Insurance and coverage scope may vary by supplier, vehicle group, and selected protection packages. For insurance to remain valid, the vehicle must be used in line with the agreement, and required reports must be prepared and delivered to the supplier on time in case of an accident.
Cancellation and Change Conditions
Cancellation and change conditions may vary by reservation type, supplier, and cancellation time. Reservations with free cancellation do not incur deductions if cancelled within the stated period. Campaign, prepaid, or special-condition reservations may have different rules. Current cancellation terms are shown during reservation and in the confirmation.
Special Conditions for Guests from Abroad
For guests arriving from abroad, passport, license type, country entry information, payment method, or credit card conditions may vary by location and supplier. Some eligible vehicles may offer credit-card-free, deposit-free, or pay-on-delivery advantages; these conditions are clearly stated in vehicle details.
