Kadıköy, with the Moda waterfront, its market, cafés and its role as the Asian side’s transport hub, is one of Istanbul’s best-loved districts. Getting there from Istanbul Airport means crossing the Bosphorus; with a private vehicle the long trip has no changes and a price known in advance.

The journey and the route

The trip is about 60 kilometres and takes 60 to 90 minutes depending on traffic. It crosses from Europe to Asia by the Bosphorus (15 Temmuz Şehitler) or Fatih Sultan Mehmet bridge.

Both bridge tolls are included. Tolls on privately operated motorways such as the Northern Marmara Motorway, and the Eurasia Tunnel, are not; your driver picks the best route for the traffic.

Arriving in Kadıköy

Most hotels and addresses in central Kadıköy and towards Moda and Fenerbahçe can be reached by car to the door. In the pedestrian market area, your driver drops you at the nearest suitable point.

Bridge traffic builds from Europe to Asia in the evenings. Allow a little more time for evening arrivals; the price does not change with the hour.

  • Private vehicle and driver

  • Fixed price — what you pay does not change

  • At least 45 minutes of free waiting

Near you in Kadıköy

  • Moda

The waterfront district south of central Kadıköy, known for quiet streets, cafés and the seaside promenade.

  • Bağdat Avenue

The shopping avenue from Kadıköy towards Bostancı; hotels and homes around it are reached by car to the door.

  • Kadıköy Pier

The hub for ferries to the European side; Karaköy, Eminönü and Beşiktaş are a short crossing away.

Other ways to get to Kadıköy

By public transport, Istanbul Airport to Kadıköy takes several changes between metro and Marmaray or the ferry, which is tiring with luggage.

By taxi the bridge crossing and the long distance make the fare uncertain until the end. With a private transfer you see the total, bridge toll included, when you book.

The trip back

Going back from Kadıköy to Istanbul Airport you cross the Bosphorus again, so we suggest leaving at least four and a half hours before an international departure. Morning bridge traffic runs heavy from Asia to Europe.
