The journey and the route

The trip is about 80 kilometres and takes 70 to 100 minutes depending on traffic. The Bosphorus can be crossed by the Fatih Sultan Mehmet or Bosphorus (15 Temmuz Şehitler) bridge, and those tolls are included.

The shortest link between the airports, the Northern Marmara Motorway and the Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge, is privately operated; if that route is used, its tolls are not included. Your driver picks the best road for the traffic.

Planning a connection

If you are changing airports between flights, count the landing, baggage claim, the trip and your next flight’s check-in and security together. For international flights, being at the airport at least two to three hours ahead is recommended.

Adding your arrival flight number when you book means your driver adjusts if your flight is delayed. Every offer includes at least 45 minutes of free waiting.

Who uses this transfer?

  • Connecting flights

Passengers landing at one airport and flying on from the other, especially when combining domestic and international flights.

  • Arriving and leaving by different airports

Visitors who arrive at one Istanbul airport and leave from the other, and so travel between them.

  • Groups and families

Large groups with plenty of luggage who would rather not change on public transport and want to travel together in one vehicle.

Other ways between the airports

Between the two airports, public transport means several changes and a long journey. Changing between airport buses in the city centre is possible too, but tiring with luggage and unpredictable in time.

With a private transfer you ride in one vehicle with your luggage, bridge toll included, at a price you know in advance, straight to the other airport’s door.

The trip back

The other way, from Sabiha Gökçen to Istanbul Airport, the same times apply. Leaving at least four and a half hours before an international departure leaves a safe margin for bridge traffic and airport check-in.
